“In the midst of growing income inequality and wealth disparity, we need to bring people together to strategize on resolving the interrelated crises in jobs, health care, housing, education, the environment and continuing wars.”
About Us
The Alliance for Social and Economic Justice believes strongly that only by providing a vision for the future will people then be inspired to take action. Collective action can produce change. It administers the Center for Social and Economic Justice, which provides spaces for low-wage and immigrant workers to raise consciousness and gain hope for changing the world. A better world is possible when we work together.
Music Festival
We are bringing together cultural workers and community organizers to build the Resistance to Trump with our Social and Economic Justice Music Festival on January 25 and 26 at Mission High School in San Francisco – placing music, art and culture at the center of an organizing strategy to help people and their communities heal themselves, build bridges and inspire each other to fight for justice. Film Festival
The annual film festival showcases works made by independent filmmakers who are affirming labor and other human rights and advocating for social and economic justice. The film festival highlights films that promote a global culture of racial and economic equality and that challenge exploitative and oppressive systems on a local, national and global level. Workshops
To build the resistance movement in the United States and for the movement to continue to grow in the long-haul, it is necessary to provide education on political economy that deepens the understanding and consciousness of the newly active, and inspires the not-yet-active to become active. We are developing workshops using popular education techniques to provide a theoretical foundation that enlightens people to the possibilities of change. Read More
